1. we can learn from those...是修饰things的定语从句 ，who went throught his challenging era and prospered是修饰those的定语从句 。根据意思需要，可以说learn from somebody （向某人学习），也可以说 learn sth. from somebody 。
2. 在 I think it is true that he is good 这个句子中，that从句不是同位语从句，而是主语从句，作真正的主语，it是形式主语，即：that he is good 就是it的具体内容。（it is true that he is good 是宾语从句，作 think 的宾语）
