是歧义句吗??

我在一本书上看到这个句子:Hard work has made him what he is today.并译成:努力使他有今日的成就。并将what替换成了the thing that,于是上句就改换成了:Hard work has made him the thing that he is today.但有人将Hard work has made him what he is today.译成:艰苦的工作使他成为今天的样子。连接代词what转化为:先行词+关系代词=the person who 来还原这个句子,这样一比较不同的解答,该句好像是一个歧义句,请问是歧义句吗??它又是一个什么从句?到底哪个转化对呢?怎样将Hard work has made him what he is today.改写成2个简单句呢?换句话,就是怎样用2句单独的句子来叙述该复合句,而这2个单独的句子又可以用关系词合并成一个复合句,类同于2个简单句合并成复合句和复合句变成简单句的练习题,谢谢指点。我试着改写了成了下面2句:Hard work has made him is the thing. He is the thing today. 请问对不对?不对的话错在哪里?请老师详细指点!

宾补由名词性从句充当。
