独立主格结构中介词使用
▲在“名词或代词+介词短语”这类独立主格结构中，当其中的介词是in时，其前后的两个名词通常不加任何修饰语（如物主代词或冠词），也不用复数。如：
A girl came in, book in hand. 一个少女进来了，手里拿着书。
The soldiers dashed in, rifle in hand. 士兵们端着枪冲了进来。
▲在《英语常用句型解析》一书中看到这样一句子：
He walked back and forth in the room, his hands in the pockets.
这句子中的独立主格中介词使用了in，可是两边的名词不但使用了复数，还用了限定词。

A girl came in, with some books in both hands.
倒是要注意的是：上面第二句的 a book in her hand 不能只省略 a 或 her 中的一个，即要么同时省略，要么同时保留。如下面这样的句子倒是不可取（或是错误的）：
A girl came in, book in her hand.
A girl came in, a book in hand.
