▲意义上的区别

advice通常指一般的、不正式、非专业的建议或劝告；而 suggestion 则多指经过思考的idea 或 plan，其实操性较强。

▲语法上的共同点和相似点

两者后接that从句（含表语从句或同位语从句），均用虚拟语气(should+v)。如：

My advice is that you (should) see a doctor. 我的意见是你应该去看医生。

My suggestion is that we should tell him. 我的建议是我们应该告诉他。

The suggestion that shops should open on Sundays led to a heated discussion. 关于商店星期日也应该营业的提议，引起了激烈的争论。

▲语法上的区别与不同点

1. advice 为不可数名词，但 suggestion 则为可数名词。如：

Let me give you a piece of advice. 让我给你一个忠告。

I asked him for advice on my future course. 我请他对我的未来去向提些建议。

May I make a suggestion? 我可以提一个建议吗？

Most of the suggestions made at the meeting were not very practical. 会上提出的建议很多行不通。

2. 表示提建议时，advice 通常与动词 give 搭配；而 suggestion 则通常与动词 make, offer, put forward等搭配。如：

In addition to giving me some advice, he gave me some money. 他不仅给我提了些忠告，而且还给了我一些钱。

Might I make a modest suggestion? 我可以提个小小的建议吗?

He was never behind in offering suggestions. 他提建议从来不落在别人后面。

Now, I don’t know if you’ll agree with this, but I’d like to make a suggestion. 好，我不知你是否同意这一点，但我还是想提个建议。
