either…or, neither…nor连接句子

either…or, neither…nor 通常是用于连接词、词组或短语。

请问它们可以连接句子吗？我在一个资料上查到 not only…but also 可以连接句子（但not only后面的句子要用部分倒装）：

Not only did he promise to do it, but he did it.他不但答应做，而且做了。

Not only doe she speak English but also French. 他不仅说英语，而且还说法语。

Not only did he turn up late, he also forgot his books. 他不仅迟到了，而且还忘记带书了。

either…or可以用于连接两个句子，例如：

Either you'll leave this house or I'll call the police. 要么你离开这所房子，要么我就报警。（摘自《牛津英语用法指南》第三版第175节）
