一段时间作主语谓语动词用单数还是复数（必修1-U5）
英语答疑网的这个“教材学习”专栏好像是刚刚开通的吧！真是太好了，谢谢管理员老师！这会对我们学好英语教材大有帮助！人教版高中必修1第5单元有这样一个句子让我有所疑问：
The last thirty years have seen the greatest number of laws stopping our rights and progress, until today we have reached a stage where we have almost no rights at all.
我记得老师说过，表示一段时间的名词作主语时，通常是要将它视为一个整体的，也就是说它后面的谓语要用单数，但这里为什么用了复数谓语动词呢？不理解，求解答！谢谢老师！

表示时间，距离，金钱等的复数名词作主语表达一个整体概念时，谓语动词常用单数，但若强调数量，谓语动词可用复数。例如：
Three years have done nothing to reduce the pain for Jenna Fox and adoptive father.
But the last two years have been rough, serious injuries and lots of criticism.
In fact, the past three years have seen the highest number of journalists killed or imprisoned in recent times.
