逗号句

1. One has buttons and the other hasn't.

2. Some people enjoy exercise, others don't.

以上两句来自语法书，两句结构一样，为何第二句话的两句之间用了逗号？

不是应该用连词吗？

some..., others...是一种句型，其间可以用逗号，也可以用分号或用连词：

正：Some people enjoy exercise, others don't.

正：Some people enjoy exercise; others don't.

正：Some people enjoy exercise, and others don't.

正：Some people enjoy exercise and others don't.
