masses of work的用法疑问(涉及单数与复数问题)

There’s masses of work for you children to do.

这个句子对吗？如果不对，为什么？

如果对，我有以下疑问：

1. work 是不可数名词，可以用复数形式的 masses of 修饰吗？

2. 既然用了 masses of…，为什么用单数谓语 is，而不用复数谓语 are？

同意刘老师的看法。a mass of 和 masses of 后面都可以接可数名词（复数）或不可数名词（单数）。又如：

a mass of things 一大堆的事情

a mass of information 大量的情报

masses ofmasses of books [money] 一大堆书[钱]

以上 information 和 money 是不可数名词。
