for most people才表示“对大多数人”吧？为什么这里用意思不太合适的 in？替换为 for 后有没有语法错误？

这里的 in 相当于 among，意思是“在……当中”。

in most people 意思是“在大多数人当中”。又如：

In most people, the left hemisphere is bigger than the right. 多数人的左脑比右脑大。
