虚拟语气与将来事实不符，为什么 if从句可以用should do或were to do

•If it rained/were to rain/should rain tomorrow, we would put off the sports meet.

这句话的真实条件句应该是

If it rains tomorrow, we will put off the sports meet.

这里If it rains, 改成虚拟语气后，退一个时态，变成If it rained…可以理解。

但为什么，还可以变成 should rain和were to rain呢？

原句子 If it rains…为什么可以改成 If it should rain 和If it were to rain…?
