动名词用法

今天在自考英语书上看到这么一句话，I spent four weeks fruit picking. 学生认为这里的picking是动名词，并非名词，fruit应该位于其后，即picking fruit.请老师解答！谢谢

这里fruit picking和picking fruit都可以。picking fruit属于比较常规的动词ing+名词结构；fruit picking则属于名词+动词ing结构（可以类比man-eating/peace-loving之类的构词）。平时还是建议使用常规的表达。

再举几个类似的例子：

He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time gardening, berry picking and bass fishing.

The wife and her mother spent hours grocery shopping last Saturday.

I spent four weeks fruit picking.我花费4天时间摘水果。

备注：以上句子使用了“主语+spend+时间段+(介词in 可省略)+doing sth” 主语花费时间做某事

I spend too much time watching television.我看电视花的时间太多。

Businessmen spend enormous amounts advertising their products.

商人们花费巨额资金为自己的商品做广告。

Engineers spend much time and energy developing brilliant solutions.

工程师们花费很多时间和精力来开发完美的解决方案。
