2 牛津词典例句 I'd convinced myself (that) I was right中为什么主句可以用过去完成时

从分析时间发生的先后考虑,应该是先"I am right",然后再convince吧?(因为一般事情的正误总是先发生,然后才在被convince)为什么前者用一般过去时,而后者用过去完成时?

备注:这里的'd只可能是 had 的缩写,因为did\would\should 后面的动词convince都应该是原型呢。

词典的例句一般也是来自英语书刊,但因为截取了单句,有时会脱离上下语境。此句I had convinced myself that I was right. 主句用过去完成时的用法,在描写过去发生的事的文学作品里,经常出现,可以理解为强调convinced 的完成及结果。如果语境不变,和I convinced myself that I was right.在含义上基本没什么区别。在合适的语境,你也可以说:

1. I had convinced myself that I had been right

2. I convinced myself that I had been right

I had been right.可以理解为发生在convinced 之前。用was right 表示当时的常态,在convinced前和后都如此。
