在COCA语料库所搜“It seems like only yesterday”，后接从句的例子有46个。其中从句由since引导的有2例，由when引导的有6例，由that引导的有19例，省略引导词的有19例。在BNC语料库作同样搜索，得到6个例句。其中从句由that引导的为4例，省略引导词的2例。从以上搜索结果我们可以推知，这个句式中，从句用that引导是最常见的，其次是省略that。用when引导从句相对较少，用since是最少的。

我认为这个句子表达的语义是，一个在很久以前发生的事件现在觉得就像是发生在昨天似的。句子的结构是强调句型的一个变体，即句子本质上是一个it分裂句（即强调句型）。

现在我们假设主语是去年开始在捷克上学的，句子如下：

I first started school in the Czech Republic last year.

用强调句型强调时间状语得到：

（1）It was last year that I first started school in the Czech Republic.

强调句型中的that是可以省略的，所以句子可以是：

（2）It was last year I first started school in the Czech Republic.

当强调的时间状语为名词词组时，从句也可以用when引导，所以句子也可以是：

（3）It was last year when I first started school in the Czech Republic.

说话人现在感觉去年发生的事就像是昨天发生的，强调句型的 It was last year 就变成了 It seems like yesterday, 上述（1）（2）（3）三句就成了下面三个句子：

（1a）It seems like only yesterday that I first started school in the Czech Republic.

（2a）It seems like only yesterday I first started school in the Czech Republic.

（3a）It seems like only yesterday when I first started school in the Czech Republic.

这个句式用since是没有道理的。正如网友自己质疑的那样，在it is+时间+since从句中，时间名词应该表示一段时间，而不应该是点时间。虽然有人使用since，这可能是对句式理解有误而导致的语法错误，是不值得模仿使用的。

根据语料库检索结果以及以上分析，我认为这个句式标准用词应该是that引导从句，省略that为非正式语体。用when也是可以的，但不如that常见。since是语法错误，虽然有人使用。
