5 see as many of our friends as we can是什么结构
初中九年级U10 3a课文中有一句话：
We often just walk around the town center, seeing as many of our friends as we can.
我不太明白as many of our friends as we can是个什么结构，我们目前只学过as+adj./adv.原级+as+其他的结构，但是 many of our friends 好像是个名词性短语啊，为什么放在这里合理？

你可以把as...as we can 看作一种固定的句型，表示某种能力或可能性。as much as we can / as possible 这个句型你应该知道吧？其实它就是从这里变化而来。可以说to see as many friends as we can. 由于friends前有限定词our, 所以只能用many of our friends, 英语不说many our friends. 请看《剑桥词典》的解释：

many of our friends 的中心词是 many，of our friends 只是修饰 many 的定语。所以 as...as 中间本质上接的还是 many，所以是可以的。又如：
I want to collect as many of the stickers as possible. 我想收集尽可能多的贴纸。
We're keen to see as many of the sights as possible. 我们渴望看到尽可能多的景点。
