“rather/quite a + 名词”的用法中 “rather/quite”做定语还是状语

如：

It was rather a pity that you missed the wonderful concert. 你错过来这么动听的音乐会真遗憾。

The nurse was quite a dish. 那位护士完全是个美人儿。

如果改成了“quite/rather (相当) +a/an + (形容词) +名词”的用法，这里的rather和quite是不是就是修饰形容词的？

eg. It is quite a difficult problem.

“rather/quite a/an + 名词”中的rather和quite都视为状语，修饰的是名词短语。

状语可以修饰整个名词词组，可以用来加强语气，再如：

It's only an idea, but I thought we could try it out.

only是副词，修饰整个名词短语an idea，作状语。

“修饰整个名词词组”与“修饰名词”要区分开，比如：

You are the only person who can help me.

这里only则是形容词，修饰名词child，作定语。
