as well as +比较分句（可能省略分句成分）除了作为副词短语在句子中作方式状语外，A as well as B中的as well as还可以作为习语，用作准并列连词或复合介词，表示not only B but also A的意思，强调A项。所以在在阅读中要注意区分普通比较结构用法和习语性用法。习语性用法就不要再试图补全分句，因为它已经不再是比较分句的省略了。

以上文章和柯林斯都没有明确说是否可以说 He sings as well as dances. 给人的感觉是dance应该用动名词。但剑桥语法却有这样一个例句，. She [means what she says] [as well as says what she means]. 并且解释说as well as在此等于and （] as well as behaves like the coordinator and.）即认为as well as 可以并列二个限定词动词词组。看来关于这个问题语法书的观点也不尽一致。我们可以在阅读英文原版读物时多加注意，尽量模仿使用常见的结构。
