I looked around and finally spotted David, who was standing by himself off to the side by a
fence.
(1) Jim Grant spotted black smoke coming out of a building on his way to work.
(2) I saw bird watchers who spotted a bird, immediately looked it up in field guides.
(3) A bit later, they spotted what they, too, assumed was a dog running alongside a man on a bike.
(4) When the dog named Judy spotted the first sheep in her life, she did what comes naturally.
