The
next two wonders of the natural world are mountains. Paricutin is a volcano in
Mexico that is nearly 3, 000 meters high. The reason that this volcano has been
voted a natural wonder is because people actually watched its birth and growth
in the 1940s! the volcano's last eruption was in 1952. Then, of course, the
world's tallest mountain, Mt. Qomolangma, should of course also be added to the
list of natural wonders. Located between China and Nepal, this mountain reaches
to a height of more than 8, 800 meters above sea level.
That leaves
one more natural wonder to add to the list. This last wonder is quite different
than the others. Unlike the other six natural wonders, this one cannot be seen
all the time as it comes and goes from day to day. The seventh natural wonder
that most people agree on is the Aurora Borealis, which a person has a good
chance of seeing in the sky at the North Pole. It is also known as the Northern
Lights.
