关于fish复数的疑问

各位老师好，我在一本教材中发现这样一句话：

We can find out about different types of fish.

其中的fish并没有用fishes的形式。但我了解fish表示鱼的种类时，其复数形式是fishes，但这句话中的fish为什么后面不加-es呢？

请老师们指点，谢谢！

fish表示鱼的种类时，其复数形式可以是fishes，但也可以用fish。例如：

Over 1500 different species of fish inhabit the waters around thereef. 那片礁石周围的水域生活着1500多种不同的鱼类。（《朗文当代高级英语辞典》第6版fish词条）

《外教社柯林斯高级英语用法词典》指出：“在现代英语中，fish的复数形式为fish，而不是 fishes。”

所以，教材中的那个句子是正确的。

different types of fish表示不同种类的鱼。fish可以不加es，也可以加fishes

There are many different kinds of fish in the river.这条河里有很多不同种类的鱼。

There are many kinds of fishes river. 这条河里有许多种鱼.

There are many kinds of fishes in the lake. 湖里有各种各样的鱼.

Over 1,500 different species of fish inhabit the waters around the reef.

超过1500种不同种类的鱼类栖息在珊瑚礁周围的水域中。

【1】three fish 三条鱼【fish后面不能加es】【2】three fishes 三种鱼【fish后面必须加es】

【3】three kinds of fish=three kinds of fishes三种鱼【fish后面可以加es也可以不加es】

【4】much fish 很多鱼肉【fish后面不能加es】
