一般来说，宾语从句的语序应为：主句+连接词+从句（主+谓+其他成分），如He asked me when I was going to the book store.

但是，网上有的地方也说有例外情况，比如：

当从句的原句为以下句子以及what, who作主语时，语序不变：

What’s wrong? What’s the matter?

What’s happening? What (has) happened?

Which is the way to…? Who’s over there?

Can you tell me who is over there?

Do you know who will give us a speech this afternoon?

I want to know what can be done about it.

请问这样理解是对的吗？为什么会是这种情况呢？

你写的这几个句子，所谓语序不变的原因是这里的what, who都作主语。作主语时无法变。例如：Can you tell me who is over there? 你说怎么变？能说Tell me who over there is吗？除非你让who 不做主语，如：Tell me who it is over there. 另外，你上面的What’s the matter? 作宾语从句时可以改变语序，如：Tell me what the matter is. 当然不改可以，这个才属于例外。
