too 表示“太”时完全可以与否定词连用。比如：

1. 用于 not…too，表示“不太……”

Be careful that the mixture doesn’t get too thin. 注意不要让混合料太稀。

You should be safe enough, but don’t go too far. 你应该会很安全，但也不要走太远。

Don’t make the paste too thick, or it will not spread evenly. 不要把酱弄得太稠，否则不易涂均匀。

2. can’t…too 再……也不过，尽量……

Don’t stay out in the sun for too long—you can’t be too careful. 别在太阳下待太久，你得尽量小心。

3. never too 再……也不过，尽量……；从不太

You can never be too careful about these things. 对于这些事你再小心都不为过。

It all goes to prove my point that you can never be too careful. 这更好地证明了我说的话，多仔细都不过分。

She was never too proud to learn. 她从来没有骄傲得不去学习。

He never got too bothered about the mess. 他从不会为混乱的局面烦心。
