这个句子是高中英语教材上的，后面的两个so放在句首用了全部倒装，我知道的语法里面，so放在句首表示也的意思的时候用部分倒装。课本里的句子怎么理解这个so比较好，谢谢老师们！

so表示也的意思时位于句首，句子必须部分倒装。例如，Tom is a student. So is John.
so表示于是、这样的意思时位于句首，谓语动词为不及物动词时，句子可以完全倒装，其实是主语后移到了句末。但这种倒装是选择性的，而不是必须的。不倒装也是可以的。你的上述二个句子也都可以不倒装：So the earthquake came...and so life in Pompeii ended. 类似这种选择性完全倒装还可以由句首的then引起。例如：Then came a man in black.
