He told me that he could not go to sleep one night because he heard a strange noise coming from the bar. The next morning, he found that the doors had been blocked by chairs and the furniture had been moved. Though Mr.Thompson had turned the lights off before he went to bed, they were on in the morning. He also said that he had found five empty whisky bottles which the ghost must have drunk the night before. When I suggested that some villagers must have come in for a free drink, Mr.Thompson shook his head. The villagers have told him that they will not accept the pub even if he gives it away.

2) five empty whisky bottles which the ghost must have drunk the night before - 先行词5个空瓶子，定语从句喝...喝空瓶子？怎么理解是喝空瓶子？应该是喝酒才对啊？

    逻辑上要说成：five empty whisky bottles in which the ghost must have drunk up the whisky the night before 这样才正确呀？

3) must have drunk the night before 和 must have come in for a free drink，我认为都是在当时=过去，对过去的过去（更远的过去）发生的事情的推测，而不是作者在写这篇文章时对当时过去的推测。

   然而，我很多同学都认为是后者，所以请教老师来批评指正？！另外the night before = the night earlier 吗？
