2. There is something ghoulish in the way they pounce upon the misfortune of their friends.
they pounce upon the misfortune of their friends为定语从句修饰名词way，省略了关系副词that或 in+关系代词which。 in the way they pounce upon the misfortune of their friends整体是一个介词短语在存在句中作抽象的地点状语。
3. There are bosoms on which so many tears have been shed that I can not dampen them with mine.
that从句与前面的so many tears呼应，为so...that...关联从属连词的一部分，引导结果状语从句。
