in the street和on the street的区别问题

“我住在这条街上”为什么一定要用on ？

I live on the street.

如果用 I live in the street 呢？不对吗？

用in和on都是对的，只是英美英语用法的不同而已。

【1】in the street 指在这条街道区域范围之内。

【2】on the street 指在这条街道的路面上。

【二】从语境层面

【1】in the street 指具有偶然性和突发性。

【2】on the street 指事先约定好的。

【三】从国家层面

【1】in the street 用于英国英语表达。

【2】on the street 用于美国英语表达。
