as is the case with Mercury 为as引导的比较分句作方式状语，修饰谓语部分exposed to the extreme heat and solar radiation。如果在as前加上逗号，as分句就成了评注性状语了。传统语法把这种有逗号的as分句分析为非限制性定语从句，把as分析为关系代词，指代前面的分句内容，即指代it's surface exposed to the extreme heat and solar radiation。也可以用which替换as，which引导句子关系分句，传统语法分析为which引导非限制性定语从句，which指代前面的分句内容。the case with Mercury=what actually happens on Mercury. 但是原句中没有逗号，就不能按照评注性状语或非限制性定语分析，只能分析为方式状语从句，翻译为像水星上发生的情况那样，其表面暴露在极端的热和太阳辐射中。
