3 what可以引导定语从句吗

这是摘自高中英语新教材（人教版）必修二第1单元(p1)的句子。
请问这里的 what 引导什么从句啊？是定语从句吗？不是说 what 不能引导定语从句的吗？

what 引导的不是定语从句，而是表语从句。本句的 is 后面有三个表语：
(1) our legacy from the past
(2) what we live with today
(3) what we pass on to future generations.
句意：Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. 遗产（或传统）是我们的先辈遗留下来的东西，是伴随我们今天生活的东西，是我们传给后代的东西。

并列关系就是Webster老师所言，legacy和两个what从句并列。
what不能引导定语从句，因为作为一个融合关系词，本身包含了先行词，所以此处what引导的只能算一个作表语的名词性从句(也就是所谓的表语从句)。
把句子改一下:
Heritage is our legacy from the past, which we live with today and which we pass on to future generations.
这时候，which引导定语从句。当然这里有两个定语从句，并列修饰先行词legacy:
Heritage is our legacy from the past, which we live with today.
Heritage is our legacy from the past, which we live with today, which we pass on to future generations.
不过句意都差不多。
