1 with your father taking charge 这是with复合结构，即介词with后接复合宾语，your father为宾语，taking charge为宾补。with复合结构修饰不定式to be, 作伴随状语。

2 I am as old as，if not older than，most faculty members.= I am as old as most faculty members, if not older than most faculty members. 你可以看出，as比较分句和than比较分句的内容相同，为了避免重复，把if 从句插到as 和 most 之间，让as 和 than 共用most faculty members。这做的目的是为了避免重复，让as和than共用后面的成分，你说这部分可以移到句首吗？
