1) 我们学校的学生数量比他们学校学生的数量多。

2) The number of students is more than 3000.

3) 我们学校学生人数多达5000. 

第三句题目给出了这样的格式：前面是括号，需要填空，后面是as much as 5000。

题目：（               ） as much as 5000.

4) The number of wild animals has become less and less in recent years.

请教老师：有几个问题一直困扰着我，我们学生搞不懂。

a) 第一句如果翻译成 The number of the students in our school is more than that in theirs. 我知道这是错句。

b) 第二句 The number of students is more than 3000.  为什么又是正确的呢？

    The number of 作主语，后面表语不能用more或less,fewer呀？

c) 第三句(      )怎么填写？ as much as 5000 是否应该改为as many as 5000 呢?

d) as much as 难道也可以用于可数名词复数吗？很难理解，搞不懂。麻烦老师讲解下。

e) 当The number of 作主语时，small/big/larger/great 都可以用作表语吗？

f) 可否把small/big/larger/great作定语修饰number, 即 The small/big/larger/great  number of...?

g) 第四句是否错误，要改成has become smaller and smaller ? 如果是正确的，为什么不是has become fewer and fewer 呢？因为前面是wild animals 可数名词呀。
