pending做形容词后置的问题

She had a libel action against the magazine pending.

她对该杂志提起的诽谤诉讼尚未判决。

请问专家，这个pending作为形容词不是应该形容action的么，那么应该在action之前或者之后都行，为什么会在magazine后边呢？

二位老师都疏忽了。这个句子中都pending并不是定语，而是现在分词作宾语补足语。have sth doing 结构。have为经历的意思。

牛津词典对此结构的释义和例句：

have something doing something

(not used in the progressive tenses)

to experience the effects of somebody’s actions

We have orders coming in from all over the world.

同样都是 a libel action 的定语， against the magazine 远比 pending 密切。就排列顺序而言，修饰关系紧密的应先说，亦叫第一层修饰；次要的后说，亦叫第二层修饰。

a libel action against the magazine ：针对那家杂志诽谤的诉讼。修饰关系更加密切，不能把 pending 插在中间，可谓 “疏不间亲”。实际上，pending 是修饰整个词组的：a libel action against the magazine。

整个句子的意思是：该杂志发文诽谤了她，所以她提起诉讼。而这个诉讼尚未处理或判决。
