老师好！今年高考乙卷阅读理解C篇有个句子：Plastic straws are by no means the biggest source of plastic pollution, but they’ve recently come under fire because most people don’t need them to drink with and, because of their small size and weight, they cannot be recycled. 我想问一下这个句子的语法结构，尤其是后半部分。这个句子是由but连接的并列复合句，在第二个分句中，and连接的是哪两部分呢？从语义上来说，“人们不用吸管喝饮料”和“吸管不便回收”是吸管最近饱受诟病的两个原因，and连接了这两个原因“because most people don’t need them to drink with”和“because of their small size and weight, they cannot be recycled”，但是在语法结构上，一个原因是because引导的原因状语从句，而另一个原因是完整的句子，但and是用来连接相似的结构的，所以and连接的是“they’ve recently come under fire because most people don’t need them to drink with”和“because of their small size and weight, they cannot be recycled”吗？麻烦老师分析第二个分句的句子结构。

and 连接两个并列分句，看黑体部分。

① they’ve recently come under fire because most people don’t need them to drink with and, ② because of their small size and weight, they cannot be recycled.

【翻译】它们最近受到了抨击，因为大多数人不需要用其喝饮料，而且，由于它们体积小、重量轻，无法回收。
