Their brains don’t treat these phenomena the same.

请问老师，treat不需要和as一起使用吗？字典好像没查到这个用法。那么the same 应该做什么成分呢？

the same在此为副词，作treat的方式状语。the same作副词用的例句：The words “their” and “there” are pronounced the same but spelled differently.
