同意曾老师的分析。不过这个问题也可从另外一个角进行比较简单地处理,即将 be such as to do sth 作为一个句型来看待,用于表示某情况的程度很深从而导致了某种结果(通常为不良后果)。如:
His indifference is such as to make one despair. 他如此冷淡,令人感到绝望。
His illness was not such as to cause anxiety. 他的病情并未糟到令人担忧的地步。
The pain in her foot wasn’t such as to stop her walking. 她脚疼,但还不至于不能行走。
His bad behaviour was such as to anger everyone. 他的表现很糟糕,让每个人都很生气。
