《韦氏高阶》的确是这么说的，但这种说法似乎欠妥。当主句谓语动词为will do 陈述语气时，if 从句是不可以用were to do这种虚拟语气形式的。If 从句用 should do时，主句可以用陈述语气、虚拟语气和祈使语气。建议网友忽略《韦氏高阶》这个解释，知道if 从句用should do表示将来条件时，主句可以用陈述语气will do即可。如果if 从句用 were to do, 主句谓语动词必须含有情态动词过去形式，通常为would do.
