短语run throughout在这句话如何理解

我看一篇家长管理小孩手机文章中有一句话：

Our school requires students to leave their phones in the home run throughout the day.

如果没有单词run，那这句话中throughout day这就是介词短语做补语修饰phone。run throughout在这句话中是介词短语吗？如何理解？

(1)Our school requires students to leave their phones in the home run throughout the day.

run throughout the day为过去分词短语，不是介词短语。结构为：leave sth done(过去分词)

(2)Our school requires students to leave their phones in the home and run throughout the day.

run throughout the day为不定式短语，不是介词短语。结构：require sb to do sth and do sth(并列不定式)

(3)Our school requires students to leave their phones in the home running throughout the day.

running throughout the day为现在分词短语，不是介词短语。结构为：leave sth doing (现在分词)

备注：run throughout 贯穿; 跑着穿过…; （使）在…流过; 匆匆查阅;
