比较级句型的用法疑问

老师你好！请看句子：

Several more people than usual came to the meeting.

三个问题，希望得到解答！

①这个句子应该属比较级句型，than前的一个句子应有主谓，那这句"several more people"是一个完整的句子吗？

②than后的"came to the meeting"在句中属于什么成分？修饰usual的状语还是未完整的一个状语从句？

③不应该将usual放在句末表突出强调吗？

Several more people than usual came to the meeting. = Several more people came to the meeting than usual.

than usual已经成了习惯用法，没有必要再去试图补全省略的成分。
