表示“比得上”用compare with与compare to

在前面一个解答（https://www.cpsenglish.com/question/51366），老师用了这样一句：

Nothing compares with wool for keeping you warm. 就保暖来说，再没有什么比得上羊毛了。

这里用 compare with 我在词典上查到了，但是我想问，这里能不能用 compare to 呢？因为我在手头的词典中没有查到 compare to，所以有些怀疑，请专家老师指点！

表示“比得上”“比不上”等，英语通常是用 compare with。如：

This house doesn’t compare with our previous one. 这房子比不上我们以前的。

Nothing compares with the taste of bread fresh from the oven. 没什么比得上刚出炉面包的味道。

Instant coffee just doesn’t compare with freshly ground coffee. 即溶咖啡根本比不上现磨的咖啡。

No one’s work compares with hers for its practicality or efficiency. 从实用性和有效性方面来讲，任何人的作品都比不上她的作品。

He says skiing is fun enough but it can't compare with snowboarding. 他说双板滑雪很有趣，但还是比不上单板滑雪。

Sales were modest and cannot compare with the glory days of 1989. 销售额不大，比不上1989年时的繁荣时期。

有时也用 compare to，但在现代英语中很少见。如：

This canned soup can’t compare to homemade. 这种罐头汤比不上家里做的。（陆谷孙《英汉大词典》）

根据韦氏阶高，表示“比得上”“比不上”等，compare with 和 compare to 都可以。

当比较两个事物有那些相同或不同时，compare with/to 可以替换。例；

The study compared Russian children with / to those in Britain.

当表示把什么比作什么，而且用被动式表示时，习惯上用 to, 不用 with。请看 the freedictionary 字典的解释和例句：

If one thing is compared to or can be compared to another thing, people say they are similar.

As a writer he is compared frequently to Dickens.

A computer virus can be compared to a biological virus.

When you use compare like this, you must use to after it. Don't use “with”.
