B is a doctor. 由于二个句子中都没有形容词或副词，无法用as...as...比较结构。此时就需要借助副词much，A is as much a doctor as B is. 句子意为A在多大程度上可以归入doctor这个类别，和B 是一样的。如果B够得上是医生，那么A也就够得上。还可以用否定结构：A is not so much a doctor as B is. A不像B那样是个医生。即B是，A不是（不够格）。网友的句子中，prevent sb from doing sth 含有否定意义，即sb 没有做某事。即she didn't feel herself so much an intruder as she was considered by others. 她不觉得自己像别人认为的那样是个intruder. 由于句子含有否定意义，所以可以用so much ... as. 注意这是普通比较结构，而不是择比结构。
