'We won't argue with him,' Dupin said to me when we walked home together. 'Let him talk. He's a good man, in his way. I found the answer to this mystery, and he didn't. That's all there is to say, really.'
That's all there is to say, 本是两句话:That's all. 和 There is something to say,
That's all (that)there is to say,
其中 something 变成了 that,并且提前到 all 的后面,there is 的前面。
There(形式主语) are(谓语,意为“存在”) five apples(真正主语) on the table(状语).
There(形式主语) is(谓语) nothing(真正主语) to say(不定式做定语).
That's all there is to say.
【✘】That's a question there is to answer.
【✘】That's a cake there is to eat.
that's all there is to it
释义为That's it. You can't say anything else/more about it.That's all you know.
Monica is moving to London.
-Why?
-I don't know. That's all there is to it.
That's all there is to say.
