Any climber who neglects these simple preautions does so at their peril.

对于性别不明确的名词，在使用代词时，即便名词是单数，也可以用复数的 their 代替 his 或 her。因为 climber 包括男性和女性，如果改用 at his or her peril，岂不更加啰嗦？ Any climber 表示不止一个“登山者”，如果是 this climber，那就不能用 their 了。
