exercise 表示“锻炼”时，通常不可数，不用复数，也不连用不定冠词。如：
Running is good exercise. 跑步是一种很好的体育锻炼。
Hiking is good exercise as well as fun. 徒步旅行很有趣味，也是很好的锻炼。
Digging in the garden is good exercise. 在花园里挖土是一种很好的锻炼。
I walk to work every day because it is good exercise. 我每天步行上班，因为那是很好的运动。
但若强调一种锻炼，也可以连用不定冠词的。如：
