错误原因：
1. 如果把 knowing 看作动名词，since 看作介词，语法似乎正确。但是，since 用作介词只表示时间，不表示原因。本句恰恰需要的是原因。
2. 如果把 knowing 看作现在分词，since 看作连词，这意味着，since 从句省略了you are。要知道，know 是认知类静态动词，不可以说 you are knowing...。它跟单纯的分词作原因状语不同：Knowing where he lived, we had no trouble finding his house. （正）

连词+现在分词，的这种结构是从句省略了（主语+助动词be的简化结构，而且，从句主语和主句主语必须相同，如果不相同，不可以省略，必须保留主语+助动词be）结构。(而且，现在现在分词必须为动态动词）
While we were waiting, a woman came in. 我们正等着时，一个女人走了进来。
（备注：以上的“we were不可以省略”。因为从句主语“we”和主句主语“a woman”不相同)
While （he was） talking to us， he toyed with his pencil. 他边和我们说话，边摆弄着铅笔。
（备注：以上的“he was可以省略”。因为从句主语“he”和主句主语“he”相同))
