副词修饰形容词

The common cold, normally a minor illness, can seriously threaten the health of postoperative patients.这里是normally修饰名词吗？还是修饰省略系动词？

如果我们把这二个名词词组改为定语从句，你就可以看出副词是修饰谓语动词的：

The common cold, which is normally a minor illness, can seriously threaten the health of postoperative patients.这

The company that is generally called Taobao is unlisted at the time.

但当这二个定语从句缩减为名词词组作同位语的时候，就不能再说副词是修饰省略的动词的。所以，这里副词是修饰名词词组的（注意不是修饰名词）。夸克把这种修饰词组（包括名词词组）的副词称为下加状语（subjuncts). 你知道有这种现象即可。
