修饰疑问

Thought I heard a weird sound making in the engine on the way back，I didn't hear anything.

weird修饰sound了，加了个making是不是有点累赘？

原文出自《芝加哥烈焰》第二季第四集台词。原为对话：

A: Thought I heard a weird sound in the engine on the way back.

B: I didn't hear anything.

原文是没有 making 的。

你的句子结构有问题（句子间的逗号不妥），逻辑也有问题（怎么前面说听到了声音，后面又说没有听到声音）。先核对好句子再说其他问题吧。
