We would just come outside...

VOA 《Let's hop on our bikes: US kids get active during times of covid》

"We were all pretty much bored with covid, because we couldn't do many things.

We would just come outside and play and bike around and then eventually more and more kids some joined us from up the

street."

We would just come outside...

另外,顺便请教老师from up the street 中为什么from up 可以2个介词连用呢?

2 from这个介词有些特殊,它不但可以后接名词作宾语,还可以后接地点副词作宾语,例如from here, from there, from where, from above, from underneath等。介词短语具有副词性和形容词性,所以其副词性可以让表示地点的介词短语作from的宾语,例如from behind the door, from under the bed等。刘老师的解释是这里省略了somewhere, 即from somewhere behind the door.
