一个句子的句法成分疑问
when I boarded the train, I could not help noticing that a great many local people get on as well.
请问老师这里的when是副词引导从句还是两个并列句呢，如何区分when在这两种用法呢
如果是从句的话，能否省略为 （When） boarding the train , I ...，这里的when是不是也可以省略呢

When I boarded the train, I could not help noticing that a great many local people get on as well.
引导并列句的连词，不能用在句首，而只能在另外一个并列分句的后面。
从属连词引导的从句，大部分都可以放在主句之前或之后。
When I boarded the train，显然这是 when 引导的状语从句。怎么能说：“when是副词引导从句还是两个并列句呢”。
下面的理解很正确：（When） boarding the train , I ...，这里的when可以省略。
