7 为什么这里用现在分词？

1.The universe works in a way so far removing(就是这里) from what common sense would allow that words of any kind must necessarily be in adequate to explain it.

我在牛津词典里面找到这样的例句:

2.Many of these books are far removed from the reality of the children's lives.

为什么这里例句2中用的是被动形式，而例句1却不行呢？

—— removing from ...现在分词短语作 way （方式）的定语，way 是分词的逻辑主语。so far 修饰 removing，“宇宙用一种远离常识的方式运行”。
Many of these books are far removed from the reality of the children's lives.
——被动语态be removed from...与......相去甚远。so far 作状语。看作主系表也可。

区别是：第一句 remove 不及物，等于move，第二句 remove 及物，等于separate。

例句1中的结果“许多书本远离孩子的现实生活”是作家们人为造成的，因此用被动词removed；例句2中的结果“宇宙以超越常识的方式运转”，这种方式却不是什么人或事物造成的，是宇宙的主动行为，因此用动名词removing。胡咧咧，仅供参考。

区别是：第一句 remove 不及物，等于move，第二句 remove 及物，等于separate。
