表示“在某人的指导下”，英语最常用的表达就是under one’s direction (guidance) 或under the direction (guidance) of sb。如：

He did the work under my direction. 他在我的指导下做这件事。

The house was built under the direction of John’s partner. 这座房子是在约翰的合伙人的指导下盖起来的。

有时也可只用under。如：

He studied under Professor Sager. 他在塞杰教授的指导下学习。

She studies the piano under Mr. Smith. 她在史密斯先生指导下学弹钢琴。

但是不是就不能用其他介词呢？那倒也不一定，就比如你后面提到的介词with，有时也可能用（只是不如under用得多而已）。如：

I made a dress with my mother’s guidance.  在我母亲的指导下我做了一件连衣裙。——摘自《牛津初级英语学习词典》

至于“在某人的帮助下”，好像还真是习惯上用with，不用under。如下面的句子，都是摘自高考题中的句子：

With the government’s aid, those affected by the earthquake have moved to the new settlements. 在政府的帮助下，那些被地震影响到的人已经迁徙去了新的定居点。(上海卷高考题)
