状语从句的省略问题
老师请看Forbes网站的一段话（讲的是 电动飞行汽车）
The energy efficiency and emissions of the most advanced electric designs are pretty good. As good as solo drivers in efficient cars. And while there are no prices yet, there is nothing in these designs that needs to be very expensive if made in quantity -- but nobody has ever made passenger airplanes in quantity before.
1.As good as solo drivers in efficient cars. 这连主句都省了，比较的还不是一件东西（左边是energy efficiency and emissions右边是drivers），实际应用可以这么随便吗？
2.if made in quantity 这个省略 也不符合 状语从句的省略条件吧，大量制作的应是designs，不是句子主语。所以我在想，在这种there be开头的句子中，状语从句 主谓的省略，只要在句中有就可以，不必是句子主语吗？

1 The energy efficiency and emissions of the most advanced electric designs are pretty good. As good as solo drivers in efficient cars.
如果句号改为逗号，as小写，则逗号部分为对pretty good的补充，分析为补充语supplement：
The energy efficiency and emissions of the most advanced electric designs are pretty good，as good as solo drivers in efficient cars.
不能说这是随便的省略。只不过独立成句更为强调而已。
2 你忽略了that的指代，needs用单数，说明that指代的是nothing，为there存在句的真正主语，if （it is）made in quantity.中省略的it is，it就是指代主语nothing。
