2. 我没能理解为何Hearing the news, he cried是正确的句子(现在分词作时间或原因状语)，而He cried hearing the news不正确？这是因为英语习惯上不这么说吗？(我知道也许这个问题很简单，但还是希望老师能指点一下，这样最放心...)

Hearing the news, he cried. 是正确的句子。这是肯定的。

等于：When he heard the news, he cried.

在这里，现在分词 hearing the news 为时间状语。意思是“在听到这个消息时/后，......”。

【道理和逻辑】在主、从句中，如果两个都是终止性动词，用于when 从句的动词“默认先发生”。道理就是：先说when从句，后说主句：说明在人的意识中，先说的事物早于后说的。即：从句早发生，主句后发生，虽然几乎没有间隔时间。所以，He cried hearing the news. 这个表达不合乎逻辑。
